Stochastic Modelling of Pilling Degree Changes During the Pilling Process of Wool Fabrics

چکیده

As a fabric surface defect, pilling gives clothes an unpleasant appearance and is often characterized with small, complex clusters of fibres attaching to the garment caused by fibre migration from yarns as rubs against itself, another fabric, or even skin. In this study, Markov chain model was built based on propensity wool fabrics, evaluated scale ranging 1 (severe pilling) 5 (non-pilling). These grades were defined state space chain. The numerical values transition probability matrix related degrees obtained maximum likelihood estimation (MLE). Based matrix, it intended changes in process woven fabrics. Furthermore, given that will eventually be 1, 2 3, accepted appearance; conditional mean first passage times for any transient enter recurrent time determined.

Objective pilling evaluation of nonwoven fabrics

A pilled nonwoven fabric image consists of brightness variations caused by high frequency noise, randomly distributed fibers, fuzz and pills, fabric surface unevenness, and background illumination variance. They have different frequency and space distributions and thus can be separated by the two-dimensional dual-tree complex wavelet transform reconstructed detail and approximation images. The ...

Study of Pilling in Polyester/Cotton Blended Fabrics

The pilling characteristics of commercially available polyester/cotton blended fabrics in the grey and finished conditions as well as of those produced in the laboratory under controlled conditions have been investigated. The structure of pills and the nature of fibres that go into pill formation in various types offabrics have been examined microscopically and the influence of various fibre, y...

Objective Assessment of Pilling of Nonwoven Fabrics Using the Two Dimensional Discrete Wavelet Transform

Fabric pilling is a serious problem for the apparel industry, causing an unsightly appearance and premature wear. Woolen products are particularly prone to pilling. Recently, a process for production of woolen nonwoven apparel fabrics has been commercialized in Australia, and may lead to new markets for Australian wool. However, the success of such nonwoven fabrics will partly rely on their pro...

Adaptive neuro-fuzzy system for quantitative evaluation of woven fabrics' pilling resistance

Fabric pilling is considered a performance and aesthetic property of the woven products that determine its quality. The subjective evaluation of the fabric pilling results in misleading values that depend on the measurement standard even for the same sample. This work utilizes some textural features extracted from the fabric’s images to obtain better representative and quantitative values of th...

The Detection and Classification of Textile Pilling. a Review

One of the criteria for quality assessing of a garment by the consumer is durability. Resistance to pilling is one aspect of durability that controls the appearance of the product and a source of insatisfaction about the product. This paper presents state of the art pilling assessment techniques, with a view on the application of image processing for fabric pilling detection and measurement. Th...
